I have never hiked in my life, so when I saw the abovementioned event on Meetup, I took the chance and went for it. I must say, despite the hike being graded medium, it was a lot tougher than what I expected. I thought a medium grade walk would be easy peasy with some hikes here and there, but boy oh boy, was I wrong. It was a 12km walk and hike.

The walk started off easy, mostly levelled.
We walked on some bridges, passed some creeks.

We reached a little waterfall and continued our hike.

Then we reached the top of the waterfall.
We were on top of the world here. Just look around!
Amazing views. You have to be there to experience it.

We then descended to the base of the waterfall.
I stopped several times to just look down.
It was a long fall from where we were.
The steps down were steep.
Someone with a fear of heights struggled a fair bit in front of me.

We finally reached the waterfalls!
It was beautiful and definitely worth the descend,
but since we were now at the bottom of the falls,
the next part of the hike involved a lot of ascending!

It was tough, but worth the view.
On top of the world AGAIN!
And again!

We had many tracks like this.
Narrow enough for one person, but without any railing.
It required a lot of concentration to walk straight.
Several times I took my eyes off the track to view the scenery and ended up walking off track.
The journey continued with tougher tracks.
There were parts where we had to hike up, without any railings or proper steps.
It was T-O-U-G-H!!!
It felt good to know I pushed myself to my limits.
If you are in the Sydney region and thinking of what you can do, hop on that train to Wentworth Falls and start hiking!!! Just be very careful to go in a group and never wander off by yourself. It can be very dangerous and hikers who get lost can never be found again (I heard!). I guess because it is a huge area. No one will know where to start looking for you. The whole hike took us about 3 hours.
