I work with violent sociopaths!

This is from an episode of The Big Bang Theory:

Sheldon: You just lied to Penny.
Leonard: Yes, I did.
Sheldon: And you did it so casually, no rapid breathing, no increase in perspiration.
Leonard: So?
Sheldon: So, lack of a physiological response while lying is characteristic of a violent sociopath.

After someone I know who was on a salary of 22k pounds for many years got a job for 60k pounds in a completely different role he has been working since he graduated and many other situations I observed, I have since come to a conclusion that what you know doesn't get you the job, it is who you know and how well you lie.

So, if I draw a conclusion from Sheldon's statement above, the person who is in a better position than me at work but is completely incompetent, yet lies and makes him/herself sound like the most competent person ever must be a violent sociopath. Who else can lie so well and pass undetected, amirite?

Since this is not a medical blog, don't take me seriously on the medical definition of a violent sociopath. But coming up with that conclusion was definitely fun!

Wedding Speech

Sheldon Cooper said something very interesting (and this is how I feel too, I think) in the final episode of Season 5 in his wedding speech to Howard and Bernadette:

The need to find another human being to share one's life with has always puzzled me, maybe because I am so interesting all by myself. With that being said, may you find as much happiness with each other as I find on my own.

I hope someone gets married soon, just so that I can use that speech on them. Love it!!!
