I am very unhappy with work. I am the kind of person who starts hating something to no end when I start hating it and there is no turning back. Knowing myself, I've been very careful with my current job, staying positive throughout.
For the year end renewal, I put in so much effort and time, staying back late after work and going into work on Saturdays to get work done. I worked harder than my manager. Because I am new and had no experience of past renewals, I have a strong feeling he took this opportunity to pass on a lot of his work to me. To me, it didn't seem like he was working hard at all. He had drinking sessions after work and personal things to attend to, even during work hours. I would think that if one person had to work hard during the renewal season, the same rule would apply to all, but apparently not.
I thought my hard work would be appreciated, but no. There is a course in a place in Thailand for one of our clients. There are three account handlers for this client, including me. The last time there was a course, the person in my position now got to go. I don't understand why I don't get to go now after all the effort I put in for the year end renewal. My manager didn't even have the decency to give me a reason as to why I will not be attending the course.
Employers, just because they have the power, pretend to treat you nice, but in reality, they just treat you like crap. They pay you the lowest salary they can and get out of you as much work as they can. It's been half a year since I requested study leave from the HR in London, and they have been procrastinating since then! There are so many insurance companies in UK which offer actuarial study support, how difficult is it for this company to get the information from the market? What does this really say about this company?!
Selfish!
